I can't believe nobody has taken the opportunity to express their thoughts, ideas, and arguments about this Question of the Week (QOW).

In my opinion, i think the biggest issue is "Abortion" and i feel this way because i believe every woman has the right to have the say what goes on in their body. I don't think it should be used as a birth control (quote you) but if they have a good reason for it then its their decision. No matter what our individual opinions are on such matters, no one should judge such circumstances, that is a job left for God. Abortions are definitely more popular now then they were before. Some people cant take on the responsibility they put on them self's and that is a big reason they choose to abort. If abortions were only aloud to be done if a woman got raped, a lot more teenagers would be having families at such a young age, as well as older woman (age 20 and up). So I do understand why they would limit abortions but i don't think it is something that should be done. Yes it is taking a life but in some cases it is saving a life as well. Every woman will have their own opinion and i personally think an abortion is wrong but no one should be judged for it. For the most part i don't think they will win the abortion debate by saying the substance should never occur, with the acception of rape.

There are many large-scale issues clouding the 2012 presidential campaign, including the economy, health care, abortion, same-sex marriage, and many more. Each concern and its outcome is crucial to the development of American society, however, the issue I believe is the most important is the economy. I believe the current state of the economy is highly unstable, as the current unemployment rate is 8.2 percent. This, taxes, and the $14 trillion debt are all leading causes of the current recession taking place in the United States. While President Obama is in fact doing what he can to stimulate the economy, not much change has been seen in his first three and a half years in office. According to a poll taken by CNN, “more than 90 percent of Americans say that the economy will either be ‘extremely’ or ‘very’ important in deciding on how they vote in the 2012 presidential election.” Many people are affected by the economy in one way or another. In my case, my step-father has recently had to travel to South Dakota in order to keep his job with a construction agency. The President believes that “economic recovery will need years to fully kick in,” and is reason in itself for his re-election. However, the majority of Americans expect instantaneous change, which is why so many agree with the fact that the economy is the most important issue of the upcoming November election.

In my opinion abortion is a human right and it should be a choice but it should not be a mean of birth control so it should be a choice and weather or not people are against it or not should not matter because they don’t know the situation that the person is in and other people should really not have a say in what people do and should mind their own business but in a way its wrong because your killing a unborn child that should have a right to live because born or not its still a human life yes religion does play a big part in this because of the anti abortion and since a lot of the senators and representative’s are religions so they them selves play a role in all this

Latinos are starting to get involved in the big issues. So I believe the runners say what Latinos want to hear. With one of the big issues of immigrants and the Dream Act. [The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act] Just when its time for election our current president put the work permits for young students to work without fear. It’s a new chance for young people to pursue their dreams. Although the most republicans weren’t happy about it. Latinos disagree with the Republican Party on immigration policy. This took place in Aug 15, but little do people know that when Obama was president, deportation numbers when up. Romney also did his part with Arizona to give students hope. He would veto the Dream Act if it passed if he was president.

I think that there are many different issues in this year’s election such as the economy, Iran, Congressional Deliberations, the Silent Majority(independents), and of course money. All these issues should be a concern, but I think the biggest issue is the economy. The easiest issue for the electorate to understand is the state of the economy; this includes unemployment/new job creation and stock market performance. The economy is slowly improving from a deep recession marked by severe housing crisis. Americans are still struggling too buy affordable homes and find jobs in a competitive international area. Fueled by two wars, a recession and growing benefit programs, total national debt has reached 15 trillion dollars. As a percentage of the economy, that debt is as larger than is has ever been at any time since the 1940’s and World War 2. The inability of the congress and the white house to deal with the issue has frustrated investors and led Standard’s and Poor’s to downgrade the U.S debt rating in the summer of 2011. It will be hard for the candidates to persuade the voters if there main focus is something else other than improving the economy.

In my opinion, the most important issue is abortion. I don't think it should be allowed. It should be illegal. I can understand where woman that get raped are coming from but i still don't think you should kill an unborn child. And other girls that choose to have sex and abort their babies just because their not ready is stupid! Because its their fault they had sex knowing the consequences. For women who demand complete control of their body, control should include preventing the risk of unwanted pregnancy through the responsible use of contraception or, if that is not possible, through abstinence

In the 2010 presidential elections the issue that catches my attention the most is the removal of social security/Medicare. Republicans want to cut entitlements given to elders and the poor, and give more tax cuts to the Rich. I disagree with this because for one I think the rich are rich enough. Two, the elderly need that money to take care of themselves so they can eat, pay their electric bills, etc. What happens when an old person gets sick and they have to pay with money out of their pocket that they don’t have to get treated. I don’t agree with just letting them die. Another entitlement they want to cut is federal help for college students. By doing this, students will be forced to pay more, again, out of their own pocket, for their education now because this program will be cut. Their plan is to cut all the programs that help people so they can help decrease the debt we are in. how is cutting more of the Rich’s taxes going to help this situation? I agree with Obama that money should be given to the Middle Class so we invest it into the economy, putting everyone in a better position. Rather than giving money to the rich who is only going give them more money. I don’t feel the rich are interested in helping others make money. So in my opinion, the philosophy is not right. It didn’t work before why would it work now.

I think the biggest issue effecting this presidential election is making healthcare affordable. As the richest nation, all who live in the United States should be able to afford healthcare. With the plan being jeopardized many more could suffer from not being able to afford healthcare. People should live in a country where they are protected and taken care of. There are more people that can’t afford health insurance than we know. They are about 44 million people in the United State without any health insurance and that is way too many. It is very important to have health insurance because you never know when you might to be hospitalized and without health insurance it could cost a fortune. They’re many people that also are homeless and they don’t have much of anything. They also need help because they are suffering more than most people. This presidential election might be a close one because they’re going to be a lot of factors that will effect this election

I think the biggest issue is of course is "Abortion".Espicially when a woman has been in 'legitimat' rape or not from what Akin calls is it, they should have the right to do what they think is best for them and their child! How in the world can a man know how it feels givig birth? Never and for man to not let a 14 or an 18 year old get abortion is absurd because they had atleast to be raped. Young girls make mistake like Akin with his speech and should have many options for their future. Babies are so hard to take care of espicially when the economy is down hill, so why have a child when you cannot afford anything him/her? Thats just horrible! Adoption is another option but mothers who give their baby for it always seem to wonder how their child is doing or even be sadden when they think how the child would think of the parent. Woman should have the right to abortion if not we will see a lot of struggling mothers and starving children.

Although there are numerous issues discussed between candidates in this election, I think the most important issue for me is education. As a student, I believe that education should be one of the many crucial aspects of this country. Ever since the economic downfall several years ago, education has been severely injured. Schools have reduced teachers, budgets, classrooms, equipments, etc. All of these factors limit each student’s chances of receiving a proper education for a better future. The fact of the matter is, it is showing little to no signs of improvement. Education also affects unemployment rates. Cutting down the amount of teachers is not the only factor. Most of the unemployed lack the required education for jobs that in demand of people, such as engineering. Also, in order to make higher education accessible by everyone, college tuition should be made affordable, which is what Obama has proposed recently. He states, “higher education can not be a luxury – it's an economic necessity every family should be able to afford.” If we want this nation to thrive economically and surpass the education standards of other nations, then we have to put more emphasis in improving this matter, instead of passing out pink slips and crowding students into a room. However, other opposing candidates choose to focus on “more important” matters.

There are definitely lots of issues that will affect the political running in this year’s elections; amongst many are abortion, same-sex marriage, and the religion of the running politicians. All of these issues focus on a certain portion of the population, which essentially take their own outcome depending on one’s social standing; however the issue being the state of our economy affects our entire nation as a whole. When the fact that the United States is one of the richest countries in the world, it’s strange to say that we are in debt about $14 trillion. Different parties have different “strategies” on how to take hold of the situation, yet those plans are not effective until Election Day. Some blame former President Bush for the economical deficit, some say President Obama hasn’t done much to fix the problem; either way the problems still stand. We can prove this by the rate of unemployment our nation is going through, a trickling 8.3%, this means about every 8 people of 100 in this nation have no job; in comparison to 2008 with about 5.4%. Only time will tell as to how this issue is resolved.

In 2012, there are many events and issues happening during the time of the Election. I think one of the important issues that make many people worry the most is health care plan. Because the health care issue cost the government lots of money during this difficult economic period. According to the Wall Street Journal, “the country spends $2 trillion a year for health care”. Besides, many people have to pay a huge debt every time they visit the hospital without medical insurance. There are also some people who cannot get insurance because of pre-existing medical conditions. According to the United States Census Bureau, “more than 47 million people in the United States do not have health insurance and about 9 million of them are children”. That number including illegal immigrants, poor people who are eligible for Medical who don't think they really need health insurance. That's why the President Obama creates a new Health care plan called the Obama plan. From the information of Time Swampland, this Obama plan would cost $950 billion over ten years and provide new insurance coverage for 31 million Americans. Therefore, I have question for this important issue. Will Obama’s health care plan hurt more than help?

The most important issue in America is military spending. The amount of money the US has spent on its defence budget is enormous. The US spends the most money on military out of any country in the entire world. In fact, the amount of money we spend on military exceeds that of the top 10 largest military budgets behind the US combined. That spending needs to be reduced it can go towards other projects that need it. NASA's budget, for example, is only .5% of that of the military's. School budgets are also lower than ever. Unemployment rates, on the other hand, are through the roof. Some people argue that military spending creates jobs, but it's more efficient to place that spending in other areas like health-care. Simply put, military spending needs to be cut down to size.

They’re many issues concerning the 2012 presidential campaign trail. Many of them include the Health Care plan, same sex marriage, abortion and immigration. In my opinion the biggest concern is the abortion controversy. It’s a big deal for me because I am a woman, and this will affect all women in the United States. This controversy comes in between the constitutional separation of church and state. Religious groups should NOT come in between women’s rights. There are several reasons to why women would decide to terminate a pregnancy. In some cases, the women might have been raped or hurt by a family member. Who are we to decide to make her raise a child that caused physiological traumatization? The child will be hurt by growing up in such circumstances, where most likely the mother will not love the child. I also do agree and I quote (Mr. Palo) “abortion shouldn’t be used as a method of birth-control”, but religion nor the government should shut down abortion clinics, and or say what kind of abortions are “legal” because we don’t know the women’s circumstance. One person shouldn’t ruin it for the whole group, in this case the entire nation.

I think the biggest issue in the 2012 election is taxes. Obama wants to end tax cuts on pepole making over 250,000.This means he wants to raise taxes for the wealthy. He does not want to raise taxes on the middle class. Mitt Romney wants to cut taxes. According to CNN.com, "reduce the current top rate paid on income reductions across all tax brackets." Romney also says that this plan is budget neutral. Going back to Obama, he wants to raise taxes on coperate companies.
Obama has said,"What drags our entire economy down is when ... the gap between those at the very, very top and everybody else keeps growing wider and wider"

One of the most controversial, talked about, and important topic of the 2012 presidential election is abortion. The GOP party wants to ban abortion except with the exception of rape, and incest. In my opinion, the mother has the final say in whether or not she should be able to abort it. There are people that abuse this right to be able to abort an unborn child which is inhuman and just cruel to the life, or pre-existing life, of this child. Mothers should still have the final say in what action they take. If the mother is unable to provide for herself, then how is she going to provide for the child? Mothers have the final say, not the GOP.

In my opinion, there is a lot going on in this election. Immigration, taxes, same gender marriage, abortion, and The Health Care Plan, I think that over all abortion is something big going on this election. As my source, CNN.com says “Romney campaign didn’t allow abortion questions”, I think that from this being said abortion could just be the most important issue. I think that women should choose rather they want to keep the baby or not. Yes, there are times where a woman could have got rapped and got pregnant. In that situation a woman should have the right to get rid of the baby. There are many reasons why abortion should still be around. It can cause family problems, health problems, even death. No one should be the one to decide rather a woman should give up on a child. Some people aren’t good with babies or can’t be a good parent.
Over all this could be a big issue, but immigration, taxes, same gender marriage, and The Health Care Plan are still very important.

I think the biggest issue right now is abortion. In my opinion i believe its okay because if a girl has unprotected sex or gets raped she should have the choice have an abortion espically if she cant take care of it. Abortions is a common procedure in the U.S. by women aged 15-44. Some women are embarssed to go to the doctor for an abortion so they go and pay someone to do it for them and they get invections and sometimes die. Some states have made abortion illegal. If i was the president i would make abortion legal in every state because every women has the right to do what they want with their body. Through 2000-2005 abortions declined dramaticaly. abortion facilities declined 38% form 1982-2000. To conclude i think abortion is the biggest issue and it should also be legal in every state.

The issue right now that I am strongly passionate about (with gay-marriage being second) is Abortion. First off, let me say that I am not Pro-life and am also against abortion (I'm pro-death penalty). The problem I see with people today is the naiveness in their thinking. People will say, "it's the girl's body she can do what she want." Well first off, it's not just your body. It's the girl's body and the and unborn baby's body. Second, if your having sex at a young age then you should know the risks your taking whether or not you use a form of birth control. Third, I'm pretty sure there are alternatives to what to do with your baby; give it up for adoption. Here's how I also think people are naively thinking on this issue. Whether you believe in God or not, I can guarantee someone will make the argument that when a plane crashes, that when your husband doesn't come back from war, that it's God's fault and that he shouldn't decide whether they live or die. But then, when it comes to abortion you find it okay to play God. IT IS NOT OUR PLACE TO PLAY GOD. If you choose to have an abortion go ahead. But, when you do, I want to see how proudly you can say "I murdered my unborn child."

Many Latino voters helped Obama win the election in 2008. One of the most important issues in this year’s election is “Immigration” to me .The “Dream Act” ( The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act) I believe every Latino wants a change, but if Obama couldn’t make it how will Romney come along and just make it happen? The problem with Obama holding the Hispanic vote this is that it seems to be dropping. Obama had the highest rate of “deportation” in the years. Something immigrants seem of him as a bad image. Obama seems to try to help accomplish something for those undocumented students; in the other hand Romney opposes any help at all, in fact he proposes more secured borders. Immigration has the lead in the top issues this year. In my opinion immigration seems to bring more voters and contradictions in every single campaign.

The most important issue for me is the economy. It clearly needs to be fixed; it should be the number one priority. People need jobs to support their families. We have needs in schools, we are short on textbooks. Schools are becoming shorter and are in need of more supplies. We also have needs in health and most importantly in children's health. Another major factor in my opinion is human trafficking. There is a lot of innocent victims that need to be rescued. It is estimated that 14,500 to 17,500 people, primarily women and children, are trafficked to the U.S. Those innocent girls could be your sister or daughter or niece or friend.Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world. There is an estimation of 23 million people trapped in slavery at this moment worldwide. Sadly to say there is about 13 million children trapped in slavery right now.The average age of a young woman first being trafficked is 12-14 years old. 75% of these victims are females that are being trafficked for sexual exploitation. A lot if these victims are HIV positive and most of them will not be able to afford medication. Most of these victims also suffer malnutrition.

In this year’s presidential campaign I think abortion is one of the many major issues. Abortion has been a subject of issue for a while now. I feel abortion should not be legal for teens or anyone unless the pregnancy is life threatening for both the mother and the unborn child. Since it is legal for teens to have an abortion they don’t have to worry about being cautious when it comes to sex. In this case if a teen girl had unsafe sex leading to pregnancy, she will be able to have an abortion with no worries. Abortions are not the only option even if the pregnancy is from a tragedy such as rape or incest. Adoption is one alternative a pregnant woman can consider. The way I look at it may be different from others but it’s my opinion, and I think that all who are conceived should have the right to live. Think about it any of our mothers could have aborted any of us but they didn’t. Besides, shouldn’t abortion be considered a homicide, they charge criminals who killed pregnant ladies with homicide/murder, abortion is the same thing! If you plan to have safe or unsafe sex, you are agreeing on having a baby because there will always be a chance of pregnancy. Why have abortions, killing unborn children, when you could have tried to prevent the pregnancy in the first place? I’m not saying a woman who had been raped could have prevented that pregnancy but abortion is not the only choice she has. Before they have an abortion they should consider other options such as all the couples who want children but are unable to conceive, they are willing to adopt, same sex couples are also willing to adopt, even single people who want children are willing to adopt. Abortions are not only unjust and inhumane, but they are also not the only option. You have the right to have an abortion in the United States, but think about it, the unborn child you are killing has a right also, they have the right of life!

Why women have abortions
1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest; 6% of abortions occur because of potential health problems regarding either the mother or child, and 93% of all abortions occur for social reasons (i.e. the child is unwanted or inconvenient).

In this years campaign trial, my opinion is that same-sex marriage is a big issue. It has been an issue throughout the years. Even though I don't fully agree with gay-marriage but i believe that you should marry someone you truly love. Religion takes part of this also because many people look to the saying 'its Adam and eve, not Adam and Steve', and if people have an issue with gay rights they should not even worry about it because that would mean they're in other peoples business. If your not in favor of it then don't let it affect your life. Obama and Romney had very different views regarding gay rights. Obama said in the Windy City Times in 1996, "I favor legalizing same-sex marriages, and would fight efforts to prohibit such marriages." Romney also said on the 2004 Massachusetts constitutional amendment on gay marriage, "I believe that the definition of marriage has long been considered by the constitution as being between a man and a woman..". Hearing both views of gay rights it's going to be interesting to see how many people vote for Obama And Romney based on gay rights.

After looking through all the list of political issues I found that the information behind gay rights caught my attension the most. The issue of the same gender marriage to death penalty for it shockes me. This has been an issue for a long time which let alone blows my mind. Yet there will always be the former fence stickers and the overly obssesed gay rights club programs.Although this is the reality i believe that it is a waist of time and energy to fight about. Yet Obama is a pro gay supporter and Romney is an anti gay supporter i can see why this will always be an issue. Im pro gay rights and yet i am religios person i can agree to disagree about certain things and i feel most people should keep their opinions but just leave something they dislike alone. So this will always play a major role of an issue in the political campaign.

I was looking for an article about the War or the economy but I found this one instead. It maybe a little vague on the problem but I believe that religion is the biggest issue we have right now. As you can see from the article, it shows how religion and it's debates are pulling the citizens of this country apart. Conflict over gay marriage, abortion, and other various social issues are directly linked to religion and its influence. We need to find a way to get those who see religion and its teachings as the only acceptable solution off of their high horses, and show them that we need to reach a compromise to fix all of America's problems, not simply focus on the "cleansing of American spirituality." Because politics are not about religion, they're about justice. In the end, we need to fix our issues with each other before we can fix the issues with our country.

There are many political issues facing our nation. With a fragile economy struggling to keep Americans working, everyone is asking the same question, "When will all of this be over?" In my opinion, if Washington truly wants to fix the economic crisis, then they should start by curving the deficit. Currently, the military budget for the 2013 fiscal year is set at $931 billion (not million!) dollars. That is almost $1trillion dollars!! America needs to ask itself why it is spending an enormously amount of money on defense. Are we preparing for a third world war? Is America seriously threatened? The basic answer to these questions is simply no. The country with the next largest military budget is China with $136 billion dollars. I think that we may be over prepared. In addition, while the military budget should be reduced, the education budget should be increased. The government currently spends about $64 billion on education. This is nothing compared to the defense budget. There needs to be a greater emphasis on education so that future generations can keep America's reputation as a global, innovative, and influential power. We need to strategically focus on issues that will benefit America in the long term.

There are many important issues discussed on the campaign trail for the 2012 Presidential Election. I find the biggest issue/Number one issue to be the Economy. I find it the biggest issue because the economy affects every individual and the individuals that are being affected the most are the children. 1)Child homelessness is now 30% higher than what it was in 2007. 2)The number of children living in poverty have increased four years in a row.3)In 10 different U.S states, one out four babies are born to a family living in poverty. 4)About 7 million children in the United States are not covered by health insurance-- I can just picture all the children with illnesses who do not even have their usual check ups. It is sad to hear these kind of things, especially if they are occurring in one of the richest countries in the world. If children are facing this much, I can only imagine what the rest of the population are going through. The economy is big issue especially pertaining to this Election. In my opinion, it is the key to win this election because what the people care for the most is who can get America back on its feet, giving the people brighter futures, higher wages, and more capacity to care for their kids and to know that they have a future free of consequences from America's poor economy.

I feel that abortion will play the most important issue in this year’s presidential election of 2012. I feel that it’s not right for the government to pass a law saying that you can only abort the child if been raped. In my opinion I believe that abortion should not even exist. Abortion is like taking away a human life, it’s not the baby’s nor the moms fault for the mistakes the man made. Abortion for me is heartbreaking, to see young mothers make a stupid decision to go out and have fun per say and become pregnant is stupid and ridiculous. They feel that the easy way out is to abort the child, when they should grow up be responsible and take care of the child. Teens in this generation don’t even care anymore about using protection, they just think “oh one time nothing will happen” when we all know that is not the case. Aborting a child to me is like taking away a gift of new life that God blessed you with. So with that being said, I feel that abortion will play a big part in this year’s presidential election. Women will stand and fight for their rights to have a decision on aborting their child.

The most important subject for the 2012 election to me would be religion, because Obama is a christen but then Mitt Romney is a Mormon and that Is a religion that has never been introduced to presidential race ever. And moron is a rather newer religion so people still don’t understand it and that will be a handicap for Mitt Romney, but it can help out in the race as well because there are quite a bit of morons now of days and they gladly support him even tho the Mormon church does not influence their followers to vote for him. Now as a Christian Obama has so many people on board just because of that, but he isn’t following all the normal christen idealism he supports gay marriage and Mitt dose not. Obama all so stands on the side of Pro-Choice while Mitt Stands on the side of Pro-Life, but Obama dose think it is a hard choice for people to make and he all so thinks that abortion is not the first line of birth control, while Mitt just goes off of his religion and so it’s wrong in his eyes.

I Think That The Most Important Issue In The United States Right Now Would End Up Being Fore Me The Economy. Schools Are Beginning To Have Less Supplies Every Year, Such As In Books. Not Only Are Fellow Students Suffering From This Cause But So Are Young Adults. College Would Also Be Another Big Thing In The Economy Why ? Because College Tuition Is Very Expensive And For Those Who Are Not Legal Cant Even Get Into College. Latinos Have Stepped It Up By Protesting Alot And Making Things Happen. Thats Why Latinos Now A Days Are Starting To Get Involved In Alot Of Issues That They Know It Will Benefit Themselfs For The Good Of The Cause Such As In The Dream Act. That Is A Very Huge Act, It Obviously Allows Every Young Teenager Who Is Not Legal In The United States A Work Permit So That They Can Work Legal In This Country And Dont Have To Worry About WOrking With A Fake Social Security Anymore.

I believe the number one issue of the 2012 Presidential campaign is our economy. The U.S. deficit is 16 Trillion dollars in debt. America is spending so much money. Over 51% of America is on entitlements. It’s turning America into a big government problem and for the true capitalist we need to learn how to take care of ourselves and stand on our own two feet like the 56 men that signed the declaration of independence in 1776. Essentially, the world currency is dollars. America is the only nation in the world that can print their own money. If there was a new world currency, America would fall into a depression. Moreover, we must learn to live within our means if we are going to crosser. That is a primary issue that we are having today in America.

The 2012 presidential campaign has many different issues and controversies. In my Opinion the biggest issue right now is Gun Control. I am not saying people shouldn’t own a gun, but it’s the misuse of the second amendment. Take the shooting in Colorado for example; the shooter James Holmes used a military-style AR- 15 assault rifle with a high-capacity drum-style clip, a shotgun, and two handguns. Those weapons that were used were purchased legally several months before the shooting. To legally buy a gun nowadays you have to go through a back ground check, have a clean criminal and mental health record.

In my opinion, abortion is like taking away a human's life, it’s not the baby’s fault for the mistakes the parents made. I relate abortion to murder because it's taking someone's life and there chances to explore the world. Let's say a woman or teenager is rapped i believe they should wait and have the baby to put them in adoption. In our generation, teenageer's also go out and have relationships, not thinking that they will end up pregnant. But when they do they think the easy way out is to abort the child. They should become responsible mother's and care for the child they made. I disagree with the Abortion law because a child is a gift of life that God blessed us with. My thought's are that abortion will play a big part in this year’s presidential election!

I believe that the main issues in this campaign are Abortion and the legalization of Gay Marriage. These both can make a huge impact on the outcome of what’s going to happen. How are these going to make an impact? Well in my opinion everyone deserves a life with what they like. I’ll start off with Abortion, why kill an innocent human because you can’t take it? We have places and people that are always willing to take in Children. We have couples who physically can’t have children that would love to have a family and we also have organizations that help with that for the people going and getting abortions should check in with different organizations to save a life and maybe also make a family happier.
Copyright Roll Call Inc. Mar 2, 2011
Now I’ll start with the Same-Sex Marriage okay we understand that people don’t think it’s right which is usually all due to religion. The thing that I don’t understand about this is in the Declaration of Independence they stated All People Are Created Equal. If they can say that then why can they let all people be happy with what they like? Why are we discriminating against people who are just trying to be happy like all the other what they call “normal” people? I am a gay individual and me personally I can careless about this being Legalized but in other cases I support it. Me personally I can be happy with or without being married as long as I know the one I’m with I love and they love me back marriage to me is a waste of time and money.

The most important issue to me is same-sex marriage. In my opinion I think gay marriage should be legalized in all of the U.S. If back in the 50's interracial marriage was illegal and later became legalized then so should gay marriage. When denying two individuals who love each other its also denying them a fundamental freedom. I also think it will help lower youth suicide. Due to the majority of teenage suicides today are being committed because the child was bullied in school as the result of his/her sexual orientation. If same sex marriage is accepted then it will show teens homosexuality is respected in society. We need to explain to younger generations that being different is not a social disability, so that they will never feel the need to take their lives because they are gay. In addition most adoption agencies discriminate against gay couples and make it difficult for them to adopt children. Many agencies will only release children to "married couples" therefore rejecting stable loving homosexual parents. By legalizing gay marriage accross all states, adoption agencies will be forced to grant the same respect and rights to homosexual couples. An additional fact gay couples can give a child the same love and values and proper up bringing the same as a normal male and female married couple. It would also help children in the foster care system to get a home and chance to have a family they deserve.

I believe one of the most important campaign issues is welfare. If they take the requirements away from the people it can change how people live in the Unite State. Some people may live off welfare or depend a lot on it. The idea of the next Barack Obama, taking the work requirement from the people is wrong. On July 12, President Obama silently ended the work requirement for the people that were getting welfare reforms. The idea came from Republican governors in Nevada, Utah California, Connecticut and Minnesota. All these states, asked the federal government how they deal with welfare dollars. They want to spend less time on federal paperwork and more time experimenting with ways to get welfare people jobs. But what if there physical injured or really sick.

There are many issues in the 2012 election, however, the one I find most important is the topic of abortion. I believe that in the case of rape is acceptable to have at least the option of abortion. Abortion is not the only option though. If the mother in question can’t take care of the kid because of financial problems, there is always the option of adoption. The “Students for Life of America” website states that nearly 1 in 4 pregnancies are aborted. In addition, 51% of these abortions are performed on women who are under the age of 25. Also, approximately half of abortions are for women who have had at least one previous abortion. In my opinion if you weren’t raped, you should have the kid. In the case of rape, many women would not want to carry that baby that was a result of the rape. Yet, some woman would see themselves in that baby if they were to carry it full-term and it would be a constant reminder of that one event that they had no choice in it happening. I believe that if you are going to go around and be reckless knowing something bad could come out of doing it then you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place. These women don’t have a say when they are raped, that’s what makes it rape. Since these women have no say and can’t control the fact that they were raped and then became pregnant, I believe that it is acceptable for the woman to have the choice of whether or not she should have an abortion.

In my opinion I think the biggest issue for the 2012 presidential election is abortion. I don’t think they should be using that as a birth control. I do believe that every girl has control of their body but not in that way. Before they get into a situation they should think of what their doing. Some religions think that by having an abortion is a really big decision and a sin. For example, “Catholic universities and charities provided contraception through health care reform, it brought heated opposition from the church, which claimed it violated the constitutional separation between church and state.” It’s like if your killing a human, because even though it’s still weeks old it has a heart beat. If your not ready to have a kid then don’t get yourself in that situation. Even though it’s a big responsibility if you try your hardest you can do it. This will cause for people that do agree with abortion vote for whoever is willing to be a part of it. Every girl thinks differently, so in that case just let god judge them.

The biggest issue in the 2012 presidential election is the economy. When Obama entered it was a big issue and until this day it still is.During his first year in office the uneployment rate was 10%, as of June it is now 8.2%. There are many people out there that want to get a job but now it has gotten harder to find one. It like a domino effect if one falls so will the next, the next and so on and so forth.I really thought it would be all better by now but thats not the outcome.Only time will tell. All we can do now is hope that the economy and everything else will fall into place and get resolved.

The biggest issue in the 2012 election is the economy. The Congressional Budget Office reported that for the fourth year in a row that the budget deficit will be over $1 trillion, and also that the unemployment rate will stay above 8% for the rest of the year. Some might not agree, but with the economy not getting better this will begin to hurt most Americans in the future. With maybe more taxes and a higher unempolyment. Also with "Bush tax cuts" expiraring and deep budget cuts many economist are warning. That the economy might slide into a recession and the unemployment rate will rise to 9%.

In my opinion,i think the biggest issue is the "Economy" and i say that because we have been in that crisis for many years know. With a 15 trillion debt im sure that is our biggest issue yet. This is what will be hurting Obama since he couldnt get the economy back up again. So this is how Mitt Romney and the Republicans will try to get the voters by saying they will get the economy up and won't be like Obama. With the economy not back up this will hurt Obama for his reelection. Some of the plans Obama has tryed have worked to get the economy up but then later on they fail. Romney says he has experience tp create jobs and get the economy back up. Democrats believe that spending cuts will only go so far and raise taxes and change the way of paying the taxes will help the debt we are in. They also believe that cutting spending and stop raising the taxes is not the solution. This will be one of the most difficult elections there would be but they both have ideas to fix the econmy but only one will be able too.

Out of all the issues of the 2012 presidential election the one that stands out to me the most is abortion because all those who are conceived have the right to be born. It should be illegal. Every woman has the choice to have sex, therefore they are taking the risk of getting pregnant. The only acception to that is getting raped, but that still doesn't give that woman the right to get an abortion. Although I do understand that some women don't meet the qualifications to be a mother, there is such a thing as adoption. Those children will be supported. One way or another it will happen. Every woman has the right to govern their body but controlling life or death is not a right women should have. Why take away a life before it even gets a chance to live it? ALL BABIES WANT TO BE BORN!

With all the issues in today’s politics it is difficult to say,” what is important to me?” Abortion; economy; foreign policy; What I think is a big issue is gun control .Both candidates are for a stricter gun control policy, because of the Aurora shooting. In doing so they are taking away and subdividing our right to bear arms by saying what we can and cannot us protect ourselves, their mind are in the right place. Their plan is to take the guns away from criminals, by changing things with in the law itself. “Press Secretary Jay Carney signaled that the administration would tackle issues of gun violence within the confines of current legislation”. The candidates are attacking from the wrong direction. If they outlaw guns for example, the law abiding citizen will obey but a criminal will not. The idea is to take guns away from criminals and keep them within the military. What happens when the criminals find a new way to get the guns and the military is not here to protect us?

In my opinion, the environmental issues being discussed in the 2012 election will have a large impact in on the future of our country. The choices that are made now will affect whether our children will live in the environment we have right now or just take in the beauty of nature through a book or on the internet. In the democratic point of view, green jobs such as recycling workers, construction workers building renewable energy buildings, and solar panel designers are an essential weapon for the fight against global warming. With the democrats, “In May 2012, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 3.1 million green jobs, after the federal government spent millions on the effort - $16 billion in the 2011 and $60 billion in the 2009 stimulus.” The Democrats understand that the environment is in a delicate stage and that any harm done now or any positive contribution made will impact earth’s future. In a much different approach towards benefiting the environment, Mitt Romney and the Republican Party believe that an increase in drilling for oil, approving the keystone pipeline, making more nuclear power plants, and deregulating energy industries would be appropriate actions to place upon the already fragile environment. By putting this enormous strain on the environment, it won’t be long until every one trades in their gas powered cars for a hazard suit and bike. At least the Democratic Party makes a very valiant attempt at preserving and conserving the environment as it is now. In the eyes of business man Mitt Romney and other Republicans, drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge will, “…increase domestic supply and relieve rising oil costs.” Although this may be true, and something that America needs, this action will simply cover the short term problems and escalate the future, much larger issues. Sure the oil costs will go down and the country will produce more of it for itself, but what happens when too much is used too fast? Once America has reached the bottom of the barrel in shorter amount of time then anticipated, how will the country drastically shift from one main energy source to another?

In this years election there are many issues that are going on. People have many opinions to every single one but yet nobody knows the correct answer. In my opinion and what I believe in, I think the biggest issue in this years election is going to be gay marriage or same sex rights. In 2008 year elections the gay community made a huge impact on the votes. In this case it can turn out the same as in 2008. The Democratic Party I believe has the majorty of votes from the gay community to their favor but they want what they promised they would do, which is same equal rights. This can help Obama in his elections because this gay comunnity has grown a lot and i believe it will be a huge impact in this years election.

I believe that one of the greatest issues for this election is abortion. Abortion is a hot topic in the news media these days, it is a subject that really upsets people. It seems that there is never a day when it is not mentioned. With people like Todd Akin giving their opinion toward the sensitive topic and offending many Americans in the process, it’s easy to make the assumption that it is an important matter. It also factors into the election with the vote of women. I’m not a big fan of abortion but I believe a woman should have the right to decide what they want to do when they become pregnant. Forcing a woman to carry a child that she does not want is cruel and spiteful. Back alley abortion killed a lot of women before Roe vs. Wade. Abortion is and should remain legal, especially in cases of rape and incest. I find it highly offensive with Todd Akin’s argument of “legitimate”/ forcible rape and saying foul things like if a woman is raped her body has a chemical in her body that keeps her from becoming pregnant and that it is very rare. Even if it is rare of there is still a chance that it could happen. Todd Akin is a man and knows nothing about what goes on in a women’s body. Since men do not have babies, they really don’t understand all the things that go into having a child. But in cases of a woman getting pregnant and not wanting the baby out of financial reasons, there is always adoption. Overall I think it should be a choice. Every child should come to the planet loved and wanted. A woman should have the right to choose about what goes on her body because it’s her body. Isn’t that what freedom is?

In this years Presidential Election there are many issues being discussed such as health care, the economy, same sex marriage, abortion, immigration and many more. To me personally i find the topic about Abortion to be interesting. Simply because i am against women choosing to basically take an innocent humans life away just because they either had a little to much to drink and got carried away or for any other reason. I honetly dont believe that it is that difficult to, excuse my language, keep your legs closed and just say "No!". If you think about it, there's a reason why a girl would get pregnant either at a young age or with someone whom they cannot see themselves with in the future. Maybe they needed to be taught a lesson or maybe there is a woman in the world who wants to have children but can't and that baby that can change her life forever. That is why there is adoption agencies who understand that a young teen cant be a mother or that a woman just cant take care of her baby but that doesnt mean that there isnt someone out there who can.

Many issues have been brought up in this up coming election, from religious views to the economy. I believe religion will play effect but to a certain extent. Everyone has their own religious views and different opinions, but are people really that concerned with the presidents religious views? As John F. Kennedy said " I believe in an America where the separation of church and state are absolute.." It is what a president is willing to do for his country that matters rather than his religion. The people do what a president to have a belief in a God, but it has nothing to do with the presidents political view. This upcoming election has a diverse range of topics to discuss and religion is just a part of it. In the end the outcome will show the preferences of the people.

In my opinion Gay Marriage is the biggest issue is our current 2012 presidential election. I think that no one’s rights should be taken away from them JUST because a certain percent of the population doesn’t agree with it. I know that one day Gay Marriage will eventually be legal in all states but I doubt that time will be in the near future. My biggest issue with this topic is that I do not understand why Gay Marriage isn’t legal in all states. Why should the GLBT society be discriminated against? They are everyday people JUST like the rest of us, and yet they get treated as if they are the worst thing on this planet. Out of 50 states in our country, in only 7 of them is Gay Marriage a legal thing to do. In another 3 states Gay Marriage is recognized and is considered legal. Who are we to decide what it or isn’t right. We have no right. Everyone in this country should have the right to be happy, whether people like it or not, it is impossible to please everyone in this world. To the people who do not agree with Gay Marriage, just because it is legal does not mean you have to agree with it. If you do not agree I respect that, but it should not affect you then. If you are not gay then why worry? Your marriage law isn’t changing, just someone else’s. I personally would hate if my rights got taken away just because people do not agree with who I am.

I believe one the biggest issues in our economy at the moment is abortion. Although the thought of a child being killed makes me sick, born or not, I believe that it's the woman's choice in her situation. Women should have the right to decide whether or whether not they're able to have and manage an accidental child. She shouldn't have to feel obligated to have an unplanned baby especially if she was raped. Many would considerate murder, but can it be if the child is not technically alive? People need to put themselves in the position of the woman before they define the laws against abortion. not every woman is able to fend for a child on her own. And other human beings should recognize this.

I believe that the biggest issue for the 2012 campaign is about welfare. I believe that there should be stricter regulations on the issue. Welfare is a program that was designed to help provide for homeless or unemployed people who have children. So many people are abusing this system and it's ridiculous. People are able to purchase alcohol with food stamps. I think that this is a great program for helping those in need of it, but so many people are being able to qualify that it's just being abused. It's basically an easy way for people to be taken care of without growing up and taking responsibility.

In my opinion, the most and largest issue in the United States is it's economy. The united States has been in the depression for a while now. the government needs to focus on our problems first, the from there we can manage other ones ahead. We need to do this step by step so we can make it work. If we create more jobs, and opportunities for people, we can make our daily lives better. in such a way that more money will come in, so the more money will come out. in that case, everything will balance out to some sort of normality. If our government focuses on this issue, they can make a better life for the world. This presidential election will be determined by how much the new upcoming elected president will be more focused. If they focus on this major issue, I doubt they will lose. We need to create less and sell more or equal. Too much going out than in. Creating more money in this economy will influence not only the United Stated, but however the whole world. Well this is the biggest issue in this country today, in my perspective. There may be more great issues but I think this is the biggest one to this date.

Over all, I believe that there are many issues when considering the upcoming 2012 presidential election; issues such as, health care, the war that we are currently in, immigration and much more. However, I believe that our biggest issue is the economy, mostly because when thinking about the upcoming election, people automatically think; how exactly will our president help boost up our economy once more? Considering the fact that the unemployment rate in the United States today is extremely high, marks a big gap between the employed and the unemployed, which also make the voter question who should he/she vote for. Although while in office Obama has tried his best to keep the economy as stable as he can, he is known for not doing enough, or at least what he promised he would to boost the economy. Now, congress is mainly afraid of this terrible economy to fall into a recession. “The economic outlook is not expected to improve much, if at all, heading into the election. Growth is likely to remain below 2 percent in the third quarter, while the unemployment rate will stay above 8 percent. Concern is growing that Congress won't act to avert the fiscal cliff of tax increases and spending cuts set to take effect in January, which the Congressional Budget Office has predicted would lead the United States into a recession.” Ted Gayer, Dominico Lombardi, and Darrel West express their opinion in considering the economic crisis, as for told , the major worry is whether or not we will end up in a recession.
