In Class - Class discussion of the results of your survey.  Turn in.  Hand out arguments for Monday's discussion.

American Government 2/22/12

In Class - In groups, analyze the data from your surveys.  Calculate the percentages for each according to how people responded.  Answer the following questions in your group: 1) Pick two of the criteria (age, gender, religion, political party) and develop an analysis.  How did people respond based on this?  2) What surprised you?  Interested you while completing this?  3) What other factors outside of the four for this project influences public opinion?

American Government 2/10/12

In Class - Hand out Religion Survey.  Interview ten people and ask them the same questions.  Record their responses.  Create a profile for each person interviewed: Gender, Age (must be at least a Senior in HS), Religion, Political Affiliation.  This is due by Wednesday, February 22.

Homework - QOW due by tomorrow (Saturday).  Class discussion on this topic is Friday, February 24.

American Government 2/6/12

In Class - Short video clips (Arturo Rodriguez and the United Farm Workers) and the "Take our Jobs" Initiative.  Reflect on Friday's discussion.  If you did not participate in last Friday's discussion, turn in your written work (1 1/2 pages).

Homework - Continue to update your blog.  QOW due by Saturday, February 11.

QOW - The Constitution of the United States guarantees freedom of religion.  Considering the events that took place on 9/11, is it appropriate to build a (Islamic Cultural Center; ie. mosque) near Ground Zero?  Use specific evidence from a minimum of two sources.  Be sure to include an MLA works cited with your response.
