However, I believe that our biggest issue is the economy, mostly because when thinking about the upcoming election, people automatically think; how exactly will our president help boost up our economy once more? Considering the fact that the unemployment rate in the United States today is extremely high, marks a big gap between the employed and the unemployed, which also make the voter question who should he/she vote for. Although while in office Obama has tried his best to keep the economy as stable as he can, he is known for not doing enough, or at least what he promised he would to boost the economy. Now, congress is mainly afraid of this terrible economy to fall into a recession. “The economic outlook is not expected to improve much, if at all, heading into the election. Growth is likely to remain below 2 percent in the third quarter, while the unemployment rate will stay above 8 percent. Concern is growing that Congress won't act to avert the fiscal cliff of tax increases and spending cuts set to take effect in January, which the Congressional Budget Office has predicted would lead the United States into a recession.” Ted Gayer, Dominico Lombardi, and Darrel West express their opinion in considering the economic crisis, as for told , the major worry is whether or not we will end up in a recession.

Citation:

Gayer, Ted. The united States has been in the depression for a while now. the government needs to focus on our problems first, the from there we can manage other ones ahead. We need to do this step by step so we can make it work. If we create more jobs, and opportunities for people, we can make our daily lives better. in such a way that more money will come in, so the more money will come out. in that case, everything will balance out to some sort of normality. If our government focuses on this issue, they can make a better life for the world. This presidential election will be determined by how much the new upcoming elected president will be more focused. If they focus on this major issue, I doubt they will lose. We need to create less and sell more or equal. Too much going out than in. Creating more money in this economy will influence not only the United Stated, but however the whole world. Well this is the biggest issue in this country today, in my perspective. There may be more great issues but I think this is the biggest one to this date.

World Watch Institute."Global Economy And Resources".1776 Massachusetts Ave., NW | Washington, DC.2010.Web August 24 2012.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00144312546445679347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2621554286907004541.post-33773049517761260982012-08-24T23:48:09.441-07:002012-08-24T23:48:09.441-07:00I believe that the biggest issue for the 2012 camp...I believe that the biggest issue for the 2012 campaign is about welfare. I believe that there should be stricter regulations on the issue. Welfare is a program that was designed to help provide for homeless or unemployed people who have children. So many people are abusing this system and it's ridiculous. People are able to purchase alcohol with food stamps. I think that this is a great program for helping those in need of it, but so many people are being able to qualify that it's just being abused. It's basically an easy way for people to be taken care of without growing up and taking responsibility.

Child's Welfare Issues to Dominate Legislature in 2012. N.p., N. D. Although the thought of a child being killed makes me sick, born or not, I believe that it's the woman's choice in her situation. Women should have the right to decide whether or whether not they're able to have and manage an accidental child. She shouldn't have to feel obligated to have an unplanned baby especially if she was raped. Many would considerate murder, but can it be if the child is not technically alive? People need to put themselves in the position of the woman before they define the laws against abortion. not every woman is able to fend for a child on her own. And other human beings should recognize this.

"Abortion." Articles About. N. P., N. D. I think that no one’s rights should be taken away from them JUST because a certain percent of the population doesn’t agree with it. I know that one day Gay Marriage will eventually be legal in all states but I doubt that time will be in the near future. My biggest issue with this topic is that I do not understand why Gay Marriage isn’t legal in all states. Why should the GLBT society be discriminated against? They are everyday people JUST like the rest of us, and yet they get treated as if they are the worst thing on this planet. Out of 50 states in our country, in only 7 of them is Gay Marriage a legal thing to do. In another 3 states Gay Marriage is recognized and is considered legal. Who are we to decide what it or isn’t right. We have no right. Everyone in this country should have the right to be happy, whether people like it or not, it is impossible to please everyone in this world. To the people who do not agree with Gay Marriage, just because it is legal does not mean you have to agree with it. If you do not agree I respect that, but it should not affect you then. If you are not gay then why worry? Your marriage law isn’t changing, just someone else’s. I personally would hate if my rights got taken away just because people do not agree with who I am.
"Gay Marriage Facts, Statistics and States." Gay Marriage Facts, Statistics and States. I believe religion will play effect but to a certain extent. Everyone has their own religious views and different opinions, but are people really that concerned with the presidents religious views? As John F. Kennedy said " I believe in an America where the separation of church and state are absolute.." It is what a president is willing to do for his country that matters rather than his religion. The people do what a president to have a belief in a God, but it has nothing to do with the presidents political view. This upcoming election has a diverse range of topics to discuss and religion is just a part of it. In the end the outcome will show the preferences of the people.

Blake, John. To me personally i find the topic about Abortion to be interesting. Simply because i am against women choosing to basically take an innocent humans life away just because they either had a little to much to drink and got carried away or for any other reason. I honetly dont believe that it is that difficult to, excuse my language, keep your legs closed and just say "No!". If you think about it, there's a reason why a girl would get pregnant either at a young age or with someone whom they cannot see themselves with in the future. Maybe they needed to be taught a lesson or maybe there is a woman in the world who wants to have children but can't and that baby that can change her life forever. That is why there is adoption agencies who understand that a young teen cant be a mother or that a woman just cant take care of her baby but that doesnt mean that there isnt someone out there who can.

"Baptist Press - The 2012 Election: Why Abortion Trumps Other Issues - News with a Christian Perspective." Abortion is a hot topic in the news media these days, it is a subject that really upsets people. It seems that there is never a day when it is not mentioned. With people like Todd Akin giving their opinion toward the sensitive topic and offending many Americans in the process, it’s easy to make the assumption that it is an important matter. It also factors into the election with the vote of women. I’m not a big fan of abortion but I believe a woman should have the right to decide what they want to do when they become pregnant. Forcing a woman to carry a child that she does not want is cruel and spiteful. Back alley abortion killed a lot of women before Roe vs. Wade. Abortion is and should remain legal, especially in cases of rape and incest. I find it highly offensive with Todd Akin’s argument of “legitimate”/ forcible rape and saying foul things like if a woman is raped her body has a chemical in her body that keeps her from becoming pregnant and that it is very rare. Even if it is rare of there is still a chance that it could happen. Todd Akin is a man and knows nothing about what goes on in a women’s body. Since men do not have babies, they really don’t understand all the things that go into having a child. But in cases of a woman getting pregnant and not wanting the baby out of financial reasons, there is always adoption. Overall I think it should be a choice. Every child should come to the planet loved and wanted. A woman should have the right to choose about what goes on her body because it’s her body. Isn’t that what freedom is?

Sarah Dobra

Cole,Tracy. "The Real Todd Akin Takeaway We Need Equal Rights Amd. Now." Huffington Post. August 23, 2012. Web. August 24, 2012. People have many opinions to every single one but yet nobody knows the correct answer. In my opinion and what I believe in, I think the biggest issue in this years election is going to be gay marriage or same sex rights. In 2008 year elections the gay community made a huge impact on the votes. In this case it can turn out the same as in 2008. The Democratic Party I believe has the majorty of votes from the gay community to their favor but they want what they promised they would do, which is same equal rights. This can help Obama in his elections because this gay comunnity has grown a lot and i believe it will be a huge impact in this years election.

McThomas, M., & Buchanan, R. J. (2012). The choices that are made now will affect whether our children will live in the environment we have right now or just take in the beauty of nature through a book or on the internet. In the democratic point of view, green jobs such as recycling workers, construction workers building renewable energy buildings, and solar panel designers are an essential weapon for the fight against global warming. With the democrats, “In May 2012, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 3.1 million green jobs, after the federal government spent millions on the effort - $16 billion in the 2011 and $60 billion in the 2009 stimulus.” The Democrats understand that the environment is in a delicate stage and that any harm done now or any positive contribution made will impact earth’s future. In a much different approach towards benefiting the environment, Mitt Romney and the Republican Party believe that an increase in drilling for oil, approving the keystone pipeline, making more nuclear power plants, and deregulating energy industries would be appropriate actions to place upon the already fragile environment. By putting this enormous strain on the environment, it won’t be long until every one trades in their gas powered cars for a hazard suit and bike. At least the Democratic Party makes a very valiant attempt at preserving and conserving the environment as it is now. In the eyes of business man Mitt Romney and other Republicans, drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge will, “…increase domestic supply and relieve rising oil costs.” Although this may be true, and something that America needs, this action will simply cover the short term problems and escalate the future, much larger issues. Sure the oil costs will go down and the country will produce more of it for itself, but what happens when too much is used too fast? Once America has reached the bottom of the barrel in shorter amount of time then anticipated, how will the country drastically shift from one main energy source to another?
CNN. In doing so they are taking away and subdividing our right to bear arms by saying what we can and cannot us protect ourselves, their mind are in the right place. Their plan is to take the guns away from criminals, by changing things with in the law itself. “Press Secretary Jay Carney signaled that the administration would tackle issues of gun violence within the confines of current legislation”. The candidates are attacking from the wrong direction. If they outlaw guns for example, the law abiding citizen will obey but a criminal will not. The idea is to take guns away from criminals and keep them within the military. It should be illegal. Every woman has the choice to have sex, therefore they are taking the risk of getting pregnant. The only acception to that is getting raped, but that still doesn't give that woman the right to get an abortion. Although I do understand that some women don't meet the qualifications to be a mother, there is such a thing as adoption. Those children will be supported. One way or another it will happen. Every woman has the right to govern their body but controlling life or death is not a right women should have. Why take away a life before it even gets a chance to live it? So this is how Mitt Romney and the Republicans will try to get the voters by saying they will get the economy up and won't be like Obama. In my opinion I think the biggest issue for the 2012 presidential election is abortion. I don’t think they should be using that as a birth control. I do believe that every girl has control of their body but not in that way. Before they get into a situation they should think of what their doing. Some religions think that by having an abortion is a really big decision and a sin. For example, “Catholic universities and charities provided contraception through health care reform, it brought heated opposition from the church, which claimed it violated the constitutional separation between church and state.” It’s like if your killing a human, because even though it’s still weeks old it has a heart beat. If your not ready to have a kid then don’t get yourself in that situation. Even though it’s a big responsibility if you try your hardest you can do it. This will cause for people that do agree with abortion vote for whoever is willing to be a part of it. Every girl thinks differently, so in that case just let god judge them.
-Maria Espinosa

"Election Center." CNN. Cable News Network, n.d. I believe that in the case of rape is acceptable to have at least the option of abortion. Abortion is not the only option though. If the mother in question can’t take care of the kid because of financial problems, there is always the option of adoption. The “Students for Life of America” website states that nearly 1 in 4 pregnancies are aborted. In addition, 51% of these abortions are performed on women who are under the age of 25. Also, approximately half of abortions are for women who have had at least one previous abortion. In my opinion if you weren’t raped, you should have the kid. In the case of rape, many women would not want to carry that baby that was a result of the rape. Yet, some woman would see themselves in that baby if they were to carry it full-term and it would be a constant reminder of that one event that they had no choice in it happening. I believe that if you are going to go around and be reckless knowing something bad could come out of doing it then you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place. These women don’t have a say when they are raped, that’s what makes it rape. Since these women have no say and can’t control the fact that they were raped and then became pregnant, I believe that it is acceptable for the woman to have the choice of whether or not she should have an abortion.

Facts found at: http://studentsforlife.org/prolifefacts/abortion-facts/Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07754885778253227404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2621554286907004541.post-18077896572440231422012-08-24T09:40:36.264-07:002012-08-24T09:40:36.264-07:00I believe one of the most important campaign issue...I believe one of the most important campaign issues is welfare. If they take the requirements away from the people it can change how people live in the Unite State. Some people may live off welfare or depend a lot on it. The idea of the next Barack Obama, taking the work requirement from the people is wrong. On July 12, President Obama silently ended the work requirement for the people that were getting welfare reforms. The idea came from Republican governors in Nevada, Utah California, Connecticut and Minnesota. All these states, asked the federal government how they deal with welfare dollars. They want to spend less time on federal paperwork and more time experimenting with ways to get welfare people jobs. But what if there physical injured or really sick.

“Polling Center.” America’s Choice 2012 Election Center. In my opinion I think gay marriage should be legalized in all of the U.S. If back in the 50's interracial marriage was illegal and later became legalized then so should gay marriage. When denying two individuals who love each other its also denying them a fundamental freedom. I also think it will help lower youth suicide. Due to the majority of teenage suicides today are being committed because the child was bullied in school as the result of his/her sexual orientation. If same sex marriage is accepted then it will show teens homosexuality is respected in society. We need to explain to younger generations that being different is not a social disability, so that they will never feel the need to take their lives because they are gay. In addition most adoption agencies discriminate against gay couples and make it difficult for them to adopt children. Many agencies will only release children to "married couples" therefore rejecting stable loving homosexual parents. By legalizing gay marriage accross all states, adoption agencies will be forced to grant the same respect and rights to homosexual couples. An additional fact gay couples can give a child the same love and values and proper up bringing the same as a normal male and female married couple. It would also help children in the foster care system to get a home and chance to have a family they deserve.

Bravin, J. (2012, May 14). These both can make a huge impact on the outcome of what’s going to happen. How are these going to make an impact? Well in my opinion everyone deserves a life with what they like. I’ll start off with Abortion, why kill an innocent human because you can’t take it? We have places and people that are always willing to take in Children. We have couples who physically can’t have children that would love to have a family and we also have organizations that help with that for the people going and getting abortions should check in with different organizations to save a life and maybe also make a family happier.
Copyright Roll Call Inc. Mar 2, 2011
Now I’ll start with the Same-Sex Marriage okay we understand that people don’t think it’s right which is usually all due to religion. The thing that I don’t understand about this is in the Declaration of Independence they stated All People Are Created Equal. If they can say that then why can they let all people be happy with what they like? Why are we discriminating against people who are just trying to be happy like all the other what they call “normal” people? I am a gay individual and me personally I can careless about this being Legalized but in other cases I support it. Me personally I can be happy with or without being married as long as I know the one I’m with I love and they love me back marriage to me is a waste of time and money.
Credit: By Mike Vilensky
(c) 2012 Dow Jones & Company, Inc. I dont think it’s right for the government to pass a law stating that you can only abort a child if rapped. In my opinion, abortion is like taking away a human's life, it’s not the baby’s fault for the mistakes the parents made. I relate abortion to murder because it's taking someone's life and there chances to explore the world. Let's say a woman or teenager is rapped i believe they should wait and have the baby to put them in adoption. In our generation, teenageer's also go out and have relationships, not thinking that they will end up pregnant. But when they do they think the easy way out is to abort the child. They should become responsible mother's and care for the child they made. I disagree with the Abortion law because a child is a gift of life that God blessed us with. My thought's are that abortion will play a big part in this year’s presidential election!

Works Cited:
"N2K Presidential Race: Obama Takes the Offensive on Women's Issues."
