World History 5/25/10

In Class - Final Exam. After completing the final exam, work on the benchmark exam. I realize this is last minute, but I have to administer this. All correct answers on the benchmark will be extra credit towards your final grade.

Homework - Unless you are in 5th period, then none.

1st and 3rd Periods - I will have your finals graded by tomorrow, so if you would like to see how you did, then come and see me sometime tomorrow.

World History 5/24/10

In Class - Work on review sheet for the final exam. If completed, turn this in with your final for extra credit. Again, if you get an A on the final, I will automatically raise your grade by one letter grade no matter where you are sitting grade wise as of today.

Homework - Study for final.

World History 5/14/10

In Class - Turn in homework (completed video handout from part one of the video). Complete video concerning the My Lai Massacre. Writing Assignment (due Tuesday, May 18): Write a 3/4 to 1 page short essay responding to the following questions - 1) Were American soldiers justified their actions at My Lai in 1968? 2) Why was the Vietnam Conflict different than other military operations? Explain some of these differences compared to previous wars. 3) Is "following orders" a sufficient argument for the actions at My Lai? 4) What impact did the My Lai Massacre have on public opinion of people living in the United States?

Homework - Writing assignment due on Tuesday, May 18. Also, bring your classroom textbook on Monday to check in.

CREATE A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION COVERING THEIR PLATFORMS AND VIEWS ON MAJOR ISSUES. COMPARE AND CONTRAST THESE CANDIDATES' VIEWS ON THE MAJOR ISSUES. ALSO, YOU WILL NEED TO WRITE A SHORT SUMMARY OF WHO YOU WOULD VOTE FOR AFTER YOU HAVE DONE YOUR RESEARCH (INCLUDE THIS AS A SLIDE IN YOUR POWERPOINT). THIS ASSIGNMENT IS DUE BY WEDNESDAY, MAY 19.
