316i think that the main issue in this economy is the rights of the women thats why mitt romney is trying 2 get there votes so he can be elected president because the womens votes are more important and i think abortion and being a mother is a big issue in this economy.

For most of my life I have been saying to myself that I am a Republican. Turns out, I'm not. For the match game I got 54% Obama and 46% Romney. Some of the issues I quickly answered because I felt strongly about them already was the problem in Iran and their pursuit for nuclear weapons and abortion.

Ira Santos said...

My results were 58% Obama and 42% Romney. The top two issues that I considered important were jobs created through stimulus spending and increasing taxes on high income families, both in which Obama favored. With jobs, Obama passed the Recovery Act in the beginning of his presidency in order to create jobs by spending money. This includes investing in education and training. It does not work in a short period of time in which Romney is trying to emphasize. By allowing more people to become educated and trained in a certain field that demands workers, such as construction projects (engineers), it will help decrease unemployment rates. Another issue is taxes. If we keep the same tax rates for all social classes, then the rich will keep getting richer, while the middle and lower class are trying to make ends meet. In general, the rich will continue to be rich no matter what, so an increase on their taxes will not hurt them.

In the match game, my results were Obama 57% and Romney 43%. In my honest opinion, I believe that Obama has failed to keep his promises during his presidency but when it comes to Romney, his promises seem to good to be true and are unreasonable as well. Everyone says that the economy is our biggest issue which of course is at this point. However, the biggest issue in my opinion is people's jobs. Obama has authorized a recovery act in which it will help develop more jobs.(What Ira Santos mentioned) However, the plan wasnt as sucessful as we hoped for. So to end my statement Obama failed as president and Mitt Romney could be just following in his footsteps.

My results were 89% Barrack Obama and 11% Mitt Romney. The two most important issues, in my opinion, are economic and environmental related. I believe the economic downfall America is currently in can only be overturned by creating more and more jobs, which is obviously harder than most people thought. Being that I plan on having a career related to the environment, I also believe that the government should focus a little more on those related issues, such as energy, and less on foreign affair-related military spending that only increases our deficit. As Ira pointed out, President Obama has made an effort in creating jobs and helping the economy recover, and for that, he deserves some credit. And as I pointed out during my WHIP presentation, he has definitely taken an initiative regarding the environment and the issues which surround it. I definitely agree with the valid points Ira made in her response. I would also like to add that, in my opinion, women and same-sex related issues will definitely play a major role in the upcoming election.

My results were 86% Obama and 14% Romney. In my opinion the two most important issues are the economy and gay marriage. I strongly believe that same sex marriage should be allowed. Why? Well because I have family that are 'gay' and I see nothing wrong with it they are not hurting anyone. They just choose to like the same sex. Now if the gay community were hurting people or doing something to cause a problem then I can see why it shouldn’t be allowed. Although there is nothing wrong with it. As for the economy I believe that Obama will help us out of this hole but from previous presidents, I believe they started the downfall it wasn’t all Obama and he will get us out but it will take longer then four years. He will probably take more then eight years but I know he is going to do it. Being president is a huge responsibility and I’m sure everyone knows that but I strongly believe that Obama will do it and do it right! He just needs a little more time to make it happen. I also think that race will play a very big role in this year’s 2012 election. The cause of this would be because Obama is black and Romney is white. I don’t think that everyone has quite gotten over that yet. Maybe once Obama is reelected that will change but it all comes down to IF Obama gets the position again.

My results for the match game were 57% Obama and 43% Romney. In my opinion the best two issues i felt were important to me, are gay marriage the reason is when you deny two people who love eachother is also denying them a fundemental freedom. I also think it would decrease youth suicide, due to the fact that its ok to be different and accepted. This would also help the foster care system find children homes to live and grow in. If a man and women can adopt and raise a child together so should the gay community. Gay couples can give the child the same love and proper up bringing like a straight couple. If the bill passes it will show teens that homosexualaity is accepted and respected in society. The second issue i go with is abortion. The reason for that being is because i feel that its wrong to take a life, even though its not fully developed. There are many other options then abortion its a womens body so only she can say what she wants done to it not the law. Theres two different ways of dealing with this subject theres plan B pill " morning after pill" then theres adoption. If the bill passes it can raise sensetive issues among the women who have different opinions.

My results were 65% Obama and 35% Romney. The issues on there that were important to me was; abortion, jobs, and healthcare. I think every American should have health insurance because some people are not as fortunate as others. It's hard for people to get jobs now because of budget cuts, economy debt and many others reasons, so whoever is elected president needs to find a method to create more jobs. This would boost up our economy no doubt. Abortion, well i think this decision is up to the mother, still i think it's wrong. To the voters the most important issue might be jobs, because people are desperate for jobs nowadays. You have women putting in more hours just to provide for their family, foreclosures of houses, banks not doing well, and still we can go on about jobs. So yes i'd say jobs is at the top of the list of issues in the US.

My results were 79% for Obama and 21% for Romney. In my opinion, the most important issues were abortion and taxes. I think that if a law was passed to stop women from choosing whether or not to have an abortion would be taking away from women's rights. Women should be able to have control of whether or not they want and/or can be a mother and should have the right to do what they choose to. The second issue I thought was important was the taxes. I think that the rich should have more taxes because it is unfair to the middle class.

Unknown said...

The results for me was 68% Obama and 32% Romney. The most important to my would have the be energy. The fact is that gasoline and other materials we're currently using as energy won't last forever. There is a limit to the materials we are using and that limit is near and almost exceeded. The new energy ideas that are rising are better and will last forever. Solar energy won't stop unless it's night time of course but still. The wind windmills will boost energy on windy days. Another important question would be abortion because of personal reasons. Plus women should have the right to do what they want with their bodies to a logical extent. The last one would be the taxes. The rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer. A small bump in their taxes won't do any harm and it will help stimulate the economy on a much greater level than raising taxes to the middle and lower class when they're barely scratching by and living check to check. There's my opinion and results.

My results for the match game were 71% for Barack Obama and 29% for Mitt Romney. I believe the best two issues that important to me were jobs and health care. Because the Government need to create more jobs and lowering the unemployment rate.If we have more jobs , it means we create more opportunity for a safe and secure future. And the U.S economy will rise again. Also , I agree with Obama that everyone should have health insurance .People could pay a big debt for every time they visit the hospital without insurance .Besides, it could helps you and the government saving lots of money . That's why I chose these two problems as my top issues in this economy .

My results for the candidate match game were 20% Obama and 80% Romney which says Mitt Romney is my candidate. Three main issues I think are important are jobs, taxes, and abortion. The reason I think the issue of jobs is important is because as many know this America is not doing economically well. Unemployment is very high, more jobs need to be created, if more jobs are created more people will spend money and it will stimulate the economy. Another issue I think is important is taxes; people need to be taxed differently. Such as income taxes, the more money you make the more taxes you should pay compared to someone who doesn’t make as much. The last issue I think is very important is abortion; in my opinion no unborn child should be aborted. Yes, women do have the right to do what they want to their body but they are not killing their body they are killing the unborn child. I think there should be strict regulations on who should be able to get an abortion. The only time I think abortion should be allowed is due to rape, incest, or if its life threatening to the mother or unborn child. These three issues in my opinion are some of the most important issues in America.

My winning presidential candidate was Barack Obama with 68% over Romney. Romney only agreed with 32% of my views. Some major issues that I think are important are jobs, Iran's nuclear program, and energy development. During today's fragile economy, it is important that the presidential candidates put a heavy emphasis on job growth so that Americans can once again get to work and make ends meet. However, one does not simply fix the economy. To strengthen our economy, it takes time. Americans cannot possibly expect Obama to fix it in four years, because it is impossible. Instead, he is setting out the foundation for a long-term recovery.

In addition, the international community, especially the United States, should seek to place strict sanctions on Iran's nuclear program. Weapons of mass destruction become much more dangerous when other nations begin to develop them. Allowing Iran to do as it pleases will set the precedent for other nations to do the same thing. The United States must halt Iran's strides toward becoming nuclear, because the world does not need another threat to its security.

Furthermore, energy is a major issue. Currently, Americans do not have an energy source that is consistent in prices. Gas prices regularly fluctuate during a normal week. Due to this, we must develop an energy source that is cheap and stable. We must decrease our dependence on foreign oil, because it only leads to more tension with the Middle East. Investing in green technology will also create jobs, thus leading to a stronger and more competitive economy.

In The Match Game My Results Were Obama 78% And Romney 22%. I Think That The Most Economical Problems Are Abortion And Jobs. In My Opinion Even Though Now A Days Women Have Their Rights To Do As They Please Such As In Vote, They Shoodnt Have The Right To Abort Because No One In This World Has The Right To Take Someone's Life ! If You Think About It, It's Basically Considered Murdered. Now About The Jobs Its Hard For Alot Of People To Find One Because Theirs Alot Of Economy Debt And Not Only That But Also Budget Cuts Because It Basically Affects Everyone! Theirs Lots Of People Out Their Who Are Struggling To Find A Job And Get Money To Support Their Family! Those Are The Main Two Economical Problems That I Think That Who Ever Is President Should Make A Change For The U.S !

Before playing the match, already I had an idea what the results were going to be. Obama would have a higher percentage. My results were 62% Obama and 38% Romney. I consider jobs and qualifications to be the top two issues. Jobs, number one, because everyone needs a job. Having jobs gives people a roof over their head, food on their table and helps provide for families. And Obama wants to make more jobs. I see nothing wrong. Even if he has to spend more money to create more jobs, in terms of his stimulus, I see nothing wrong. What is the worse that can happen? We are already in debt, so what is a couple more billion(trillion) dollars? Besides Obama is looking at other alternatives such as taking money that is no longer being spent on war. Another big issue would be the qualifications. Who can do the job? Who can rebuild America's Economy? And those are the type of questions people are asking themselves. Sure Obama and Romney have certain attributes that make them different or better from each other, but the real question is who has the ultimate attribute to move the United States of America forward. And in my opinion, Obama has that attribute.

My results for the president match up game were 62% Willard Mitt Romney and 38% Barack Obama. I think the two things that got me most on Mitt’s side are the same sex marriage and the abortion issue. In my opinion same sex marriage shouldn’t even be such as big of an issue as it is now. I have strong Christian beliefs and we value marriage between a man and woman. In addition, because of my beliefs, I am against abortion since a life is a life no matter how it started or how short it is.

I'm Dennis Bi from 4th period.

My results were 79% Barack Obama and 21% Mitt Romney. One important issue is lowering military spending. America has spent too much money on defense, much more money than any other country. That money should be going towards issues at home, not in other countries.

Abortion should also be kept legal. I don't tell other people what they can and can't do with their body. It's up to the individual to decide whether they should go through with the abortion or not.

62% Obama 38% Romney. The government should spend more money on advancing solar energy rather than researching it. If more money if spend on solar and wind power it will help reduce the amount of limited resources we use. Therefor it will help us go green. Everyone should have the right to health care even if it means paying higher taxes.

I got 90% for Obama and 10% for Romney. I all really know that I'm a democrat. I think some of the most important issues from the quiz are jobs, Healthcare, immigration, gay marriage, abortion, and taxes. Jobs and unemployment are a really big problem in America. Everyone should be able to have healthcare. I also believe that millionaires should pay their fair share in taxes. As for gay marriage and abortion I think their both choices, a person should be able to marry whoever they want regardless of their sex and a women should have the right to choose what she does with her body. The environment and renewal energy are also important because they affect our future. Sarah Dobra

I was pretty surprised to see my results i got 58% for Obama and 46% for Romney. By far the biggest issue is unemployment. Also everybody all ages should be eligible for health care. I don't think same sex marriage should be such a big issue. There is other things more important that need to be dealt with. Not saying its not an issue, just that its not the biggest. In my opinion. I don't always agree with abortion either. I think it should be an option but there should be some rules. A life is a life and everyone deserves to live. Its not the babies fault it didn't ask to be alive. In some cases i do think its okay. For instance if an 11 year old girl was raped. Or if the baby was growing in a mother's tube and her life was threatened or some weird case like that. There is other options like adoption. Girls should consider.

My Result for the candidate match game was 82% Obama and 18% Romney. Knowing all my views on the issues I knew that my score as going to come out around those numbers. Some issues I did respond with no opinion such as same sex marriage and abortion. I believe that people should be happy with whoever they want to be and how they want to be. I know most girls have an opinion on the abortion topic but I see the view from both sides. The results of the abortion topic are the least of my concerns and it is not a big topic in my book. I believe there is topics more important than abortion and that’s what we should focus on as a Americans, abortion and same sex marriage can be put to the side for a while till we get back on track.

My test didn't really surprise me. I knew I agreed to most of the things Obama promised, and it showed when my results were 90% Obama and 10% Romney. A few things stuck out while taking the test. One was the question of taxing high income citizens, and I was for that, I think everyone who is living in the country should pull their weight regardless of their income. The other was same-sex marriage, which is a big topic right now, and will until it's resolved in this elections, really it's peoples' choice as to who they want to marry. The last topic that stood out to me was abortion, it's hard to think about sacrificing human lives due to parents' mistakes, it's just not fair, once the baby begins to be developed its murder however you see it; this I think is the only part where I didn't agree with Obama's stance.

While I was taking the candidate quiz game made me realize that I would vote for obama with a 59%. Which didnt surprise me, I would see a great increase when I would agree with medicare, immigration, and healthcare reform. Which I consider myself a domocrat. I strongly agree that an immigration reform should take place and Arizona should not have the right for any immigrant discrimination. For healthcare, I think Medical Insurances now a days are taking avantages in over charging patients for any pre-existing conditions and setting a medical insurance policy would solve the issue. The one thing I was upset when choosing that I desagreed with gay marriege and abortion where it lead more to Romney rather than Obama.

Unknown said...

I was 78% Obama and 22% Romney my two biggest issues was healthcare and medicare because its more important to me if everyone has a way to get themself seen if they get sick. I did not choose economy because throughout our history we have had recessions every few years then it "got better" i just think in time it will improve its not a overnight recovery.

My result for the candidate match game was 50% Obama and 50% Romney. There are a few issues that I agree with for each candidate.I agree with Romney when he says abortion should be illegal. I also agree with Obama when he says the military should be exempt from budget cuts because they need all that they can get because they're fighting and protecting our country. My biggest issues are economy, abortion, and taxes.

My results were 79% Obama and 21% Romney. I'm not surprised with my results i'm a democrat. I think one of the big issues is jobs and that's why i think they should stop outsourcing jobs . Another problem i think the u.s. has right now is taxes and how the rich pay less then the middle class. That should be the other way around rich people make more so they should be giving more money back then every one else. Those are problems i think the next president hopefully its Obama again, will have to take care of.

So before I took this test I was set on being a republican. I see the results and get Obama(10 of 14:80%) Romney(2 of 14:20%). The top two issues I feel most important to me are same sex marriage, and the economy. To pass a law on having Seniors vote for their medical insurance i feel that its unfair for the rest of the people. Seeing is how my dad is a tax payer who gad to provide for family and their insurance. Also same sex marriage I personally do not approve of, but I believe because it is so popular today in the U.S. that the government will approve of same sex marriage not only because its popular, but also most of our population is gay.

I think Jobs will be the biggest issue in this years election because our unemployment rate is very low. People need jobs in order to raise there family, pay bills, etc. The second issue might be Abortion. My reasons against abortion are that I feel its unfair to take a life even if there not fully developed. I think women have other options than to abort a child for which ever case. Like for instance, adoption is a great idea because there are many couples out there that dream of having a child but sadly can't. It's not the babies fault there mother wouldn't protect her sexual life. With that being said, I think these will be the most important issues of this years election.

My results were 46% Obama and 54% Romney. The most important issue to me was whether or not it is important for our president to have a significant background towards “business”. Overall, I extremely agree that it is important for our government to be familiar with business, especially when considering the horrific economic issues we are facing as of right now. Knowing that the number one issue in the United States right now is our economy, it is extremely important that as a nation we work together in brain storming in different ways in which we can get out of the “hole” we are in. To accomplish this, our president must know how to handle money, and handle business in the best way possible, in which can lower our surplus budget. However, although it is not the only issue that we are in as a nation, I believe that it is the one that we must fix first, in order to get to the rest. Another important issue that also fits into my first most important issue was the issue of high percentage in unemployment rates. A variety of hard working graduates are losing their jobs all around our country, for example, teachers; the extremely famous “pink slip,” teaching is not an easy job, in order to teach one must attend college and provide for their community. However, the hard work almost seems extremely worthless when teachers are forced to leave their jobs and look for something else somewhere else, sometimes even lower down to a much lower paying job. Lastly, another important topic that should be talked about into much more depth is the environment. Although it does not seem like something that is not necessarily affecting us in great affect right now, it will mark a major impact in our future. Considering that oil seems to be one of our major resources as off right now, we can soon run out of it. People now a day a day’s believe that if it is not affecting them as off right now, they do not really care about it till it finally hits them. Although it seems as off right there is a long way to go when considering the ending of our “oil”, it possible, and the environment should be something brought up much more.

My results for the Candidate game were 64% Obama and 36% Romney. The two most important issues to me would definitely have to be health care and taxes, since so many Americans have no health insurance. Also, I don't find it fair for the wealthier Americans to pay less than those who are not as fortunate. They should have a minimum tax income. The two most important issues to others I believe would be the controversial ones- Gay Marriage and Abortion. I am on Obama's side on both of these topics. People should be allowed to marry whomever they want and women have the rights to do what they want with their bodies.

I've been trying to find this whip for a while now, I have been confusing them for the class one. However, in this match game I find Obama at a high 70% and Romney at a low 30%. Obama has been more clear and precise toward his "Goals" he actually wants to do it , but with the help of our people. The most important issues Obama is trying to put out is our economic problems, education, and trying to create a better employment for us, Americans. He was not as successful as we planned him to be, but why not give him another chance to show what he is made of. If Obama is elected he WILL make a change in our country and make us better a whole. This economy was bad since he picked it up from Bush, Obama knows what to do and will try his up most best to achieve his goals he promised us. Candidate Romney has no chance to Obama. Obama will take this presidency and rise us to the top.

Jocelyn Leon said...

My results are Obama 77% Romney 23%. I'm not surprised to have been matched more to Obama. I'm more liberal and opened minded. The issues on Health Care and immigration hit close to the heart for me. I also don't think one necessarily "NEEDS" to have business experience to get our country out of this economic deficit. Obama in my opinion, has a clear idea of what he needs to do to improve this country. When he became president, the United States was not in good conditions. Yet, slowly but surely he's trying to improve our country. As for the abortion and gay marriage issues, we are no one to say what is right and wrong. One should have the choice to do as they please to one's body; one should have the choice to marry and or be with whom they please. Separation of church and state should continue to be strictly enforced.

Unknown said...

My results came out to be 66% Democrat and 34% Republican. A few differences included areas in the environment, energy, and same sex marriage. In my view, carbon emissions should be cut down more and more in order to save the environment we have today. Cutting carbon emissions is essential if we plan on helping the future of our animal kingdom. For example, The Arctic ice sheets are already melting at record pace which puts the native animals under immense danger.
Energy is also an important issue that caught my attention. Focusing on new improvements regarding wind, solar, and other reusable energies will have both an environmental and economic benefit. Environmentally, less fossil fuels being puts less carbon emissions into the air and no more drilling for oil will result in external costs to the surrounding organisms. Economically, new products will be able to be purchased by people.
Furthermore, same sex marriage should be the choice of the people and not a government decision. The government should not be able to interfere in a persons life choice and matrimonial decision. No harm can be associated with two people of the same gender becoming life partners and therefore should not concern the government.
