SOTU Project

For this project, you must first watch or read President Obama's State of the Union Address.  While listening or reading, you are to write down 50 words or themes President Obama talks about in his address.  These words can be emotions (happy or sad) or themes (education or jobs).  You must arrange these words in terms of its significance and relevance to you.  For instance, you might feel that education is important, so it is displayed in large letters.  The most important terms should be easily read whereas some of the words will remain smaller.  For each word selected, you must write a short one to two sentence description of what that word means to you in relationship to the State of the Union Address.  Be creative in your visual representation and also in your writing.

The purpose of this is to display your thoughts, ideas, arguments, emotions, or how the speech relates to you personally.  Every project will be unique.

Go to http://www.wordle.net/ and create your masterpiece.  You will then save this picture and post it on your blog along with your writing.

This project is due on Friday, February 11.  Each person will present their project to the class (very short 1-2 minute presentation) highlighting the key components of their project.

This project is worth 100 points - 80 points for the display, 20 points for the presentation.  Don't be absent on this day, and if you are going to be absent, please let me know prior to your absence.  Also, I do accept late work on projects, but it will be two letter grades for every day late.
