American Government 2/12

In Class - Individual/Group collaboration on the economic situation in the United States. Analyze the ten questions that you have written concerning the economic stimulus plan presented by President Obama. As a group or an individual, collaborate and find the answers to your questions with the three current events that you have brought for today (homework from Wednesday). Use this time to come up with meaningful talking points for our class discussion tomorrow. Everyone is required to participate. No participation, no points. Come with questions and talking points concerning this economic crisis and hopefully we can have a meaningful and positive discussion about the issue.

Homework - Prepare for the class discussion. You will turn in tomorrow: your three (3) current events, your ten questions and answers, and the notes from Obama's press conference (Tuesday and Wednesday in class).

In my opinion the reason why president obama's stimulus plan has been getting so much critizium is because each democratic party has their own view on what should be done at this point to better the economy. They can't seem to come to an overall agreement. I think they should quit theie conflict and quickly agree on some level and put their plan in action because like they say time is money, money they have lost and should be gaining.

I think that he is receiving criticism because he is confident that it will work and help the American people, I guess it is about perspective, or it can be because Obama got to work right away and they think he does not know what he is doing. The officials should act now in so the recession can improve in any way.

I think that Obama's stimulus plan is getting so much criticism because the other democrats and republicans dont see it the same way Obama does. I know everyone has their own view point, but Obama's plan is rather reasonable and everyone should do their own part to help the economy get out of this recession. A good way for our elected offcials to help the American people get on the right track is first, pay their own taxes. Secondly, buy big ticket items instead of saving their money for something worse that might come soon. But if everyone follows the stimulus plan and pulls their own weight together America and its people can get out of this recession.

i just think that obama is getting alot of criticism becuase the other democrats dont think he could do it, or they think its too much for him and or they just have a different idea, but his plan does sound pretty good an we should all follow it and we might just get out of this recession

Well in my opinion I believe that Obama's recieving so much critism cause they don't have faith or trust in the stimulous plan. They beleive that our economy will be going down the drain, before this plan can be activated or set. They should plan now, instead of waiting for future references, or our economy will be get worse by the minute. We should first concentrate on the unemployment rate, then stabalize our market economy. When we have people on the jobs, we will be able to pay bills, taxes, morgage payments, and have sufficient money so that people can use it, for our market.
